The usage method and precautions for floor grinders are as follows:
How to Use
- Preparation Work
- Inspect the machine : Carefully inspect whether components such as the protective cover and auxiliary handle are intact and securely fastened, ensuring that all machine parts are functioning properly.
- Select the grinding disc : Select the appropriate grinding wheel based on the floor material and grinding requirements—for example, use a metal wheel for rough grinding, and resin wheels for fine grinding and polishing.
- Install the grinding wheel : Properly install the grinding wheel onto the grinder, ensuring it is securely fastened and free from any looseness.
- Connect the power supply : Use a suitable power outlet, ensure the outlet is equipped with an RCD (residual current device), and check the power cord for any damage.
- Add water or a vacuuming device : For wet grinding, add an appropriate amount of clean water to the tank; for dry grinding, a vacuum device must be used.
- Operating Steps
- Start the machine : Check that the machine switch is in the "OFF" position, properly connect the power cord by inserting the plug into the unit’s socket, and once the power is turned on, the red indicator light will illuminate. Open the water valve, allow a moderate amount of water to flow for about 5 seconds, then start the grinder. When initiating the operation, ensure the speed control knob is set to at least gear 3; after starting, you can adjust the speed as desired.
- Start grinding : Grind the entire surface in a "#" pattern to ensure uniform flatness and prevent any light reflection. Check the progress continuously as you sand, smoothing it out until perfectly even. Each pass should overlap the previous one by about 20 cm along the edges—never skip any section while sanding.
- Adjust parameters : Adjust the grinder's speed, pressure, and other parameters as needed, based on the surface conditions and grinding performance, to achieve optimal results.
- Replace the grinding wheel : When the grinding wheel wears down to a certain extent or after completing the current grinding process, replace it promptly. Be sure to turn off the machine and disconnect the power supply before replacing.
- Finalizing tasks
- Clean the floor When wet grinding, use a water vacuum to remove wastewater; during dry grinding, employ an industrial vacuum cleaner to thoroughly clean dust from the floor.
- Shut down the machine After grinding is complete, first turn off the machine's power supply, and only proceed with subsequent operations once the machine has come to a full stop.
- Clean the machine : Promptly clean the grinder of dust, debris, and residual grinding materials to keep the machine tidy.
Important Notes
- Security aspects
- Wearing protective gear : Operators must wear protective equipment such as safety goggles, masks, and gloves to prevent dust, debris, and other particles from entering the eyes, respiratory tract, and skin.
- Maintain a safe distance : When operating, maintain an appropriate safety distance from the machine to prevent accidental movement or grinding wheels from flying out and causing injury.
- Prevent electric shock : Ensure the power cord is free from damage and electrical leakage, that the machine is properly grounded, and avoid using the machine in damp environments to prevent electric shock accidents.
- Pay attention to the machine's status During operation, closely monitor the machine's running condition. If you notice any unusual sounds, vibrations, or overheating, immediately stop using the equipment, inspect it, and address the issue promptly.
- Operationally
- Correctly installing the grinding wheel When installing the grinding wheel, make sure it is securely fastened to prevent it from loosening or flying out during the grinding process.
- Control the grinding speed and pressure : Adjust the grinder's speed and pressure appropriately based on the floor material and grinding requirements, ensuring that the grinding process is neither excessive nor insufficient.
- Avoid skipping numbers when using grinding discs. : Use them sequentially according to the grit number of the abrasive discs, and avoid skipping any numbers to prevent compromising the grinding performance and extending the lifespan of the discs.
- Pay attention to the ground conditions. : Before grinding, clean the floor thoroughly of dust, debris, and contaminants. For floors with cracks or potholes, repair them first.
- Maintenance and upkeep aspects
- Regularly inspect the machine : Conduct comprehensive regular inspections of the grinder, including components such as the motor, gears, and bearings, to promptly identify and replace any worn or damaged parts.
- Clean the machine After each use, promptly clean the machine of dust, debris, and residual abrasive materials to prevent them from entering the machine’s interior and compromising its performance.
- Store the machine : Store the machine in a dry, well-ventilated area, avoiding direct sunlight and damp environments to prevent rusting and damage.
