How to Use and Precautions for Floor Polishing Machines

Release time:

Here are the usage instructions and precautions for floor polishing machines:

How to Use

  1. Preparation Work
    • Check the equipment : Check whether the polishing machine's power cord is intact, looking for any signs of damage or aging, and ensure that the plug and socket are securely connected. Also, inspect all machine components to confirm they are firmly installed—such as the polishing disc and protective cover—and verify that none are loose or damaged.
    • Choose accessories : Depending on the floor material and polishing requirements, select the appropriate accessories such as polishing pads, grinding discs, or waxing sleeves. For example, when polishing marble floors, a finer polishing pad is recommended; and if you're applying wax, make sure to choose the right waxing sleeve.
    • Clean the floor : Use tools such as brooms and mops to thoroughly clean the floor of dust, debris, and other dirt, ensuring there are no visible stains or obstacles. If there are water marks on the floor, allow them to dry completely before proceeding with polishing.
  2. Installation and Debugging
    • Install accessories : Properly install the selected polishing pad, grinding disc, or waxing kit—along with other accessories—onto the polishing machine’s base, ensuring they are securely fastened and won’t come loose during the polishing process.
    • Adjustment parameters : Adjust the polishing machine's speed, pressure, and other parameters according to the surface condition and polishing requirements. Generally, for the initial polishing stage, you can choose a lower speed and reduced pressure, gradually adjusting as you become more comfortable until reaching the optimal settings.
  3. Operating Procedure
    • Start the machine : After confirming that everything is ready, turn on the power switch to start the polishing machine. When starting up, pay close attention to the machine's operation, ensuring there are no unusual noises, vibrations, or other abnormalities.
    • Evenly polished : Hold the polishing machine firmly, ensuring the polishing head maintains an appropriate angle and pressure against the floor. Polish in a consistent sequence and direction—such as an "S"-shaped or "Z"-shaped pattern—to avoid missing any spots or overlapping areas. Keep a steady pace while polishing; don’t alternate between fast and slow movements.
    • Add polishing agent or wax : If polishing agents or wax are needed, add them appropriately—both in terms of timing and quantity—as directed by the product instructions. When applying, be careful to avoid splashing the polish or wax onto the machine or other surfaces.
  4. Finalizing tasks
    • Shut down the machine After polishing is complete, first turn off the power switch of the polishing machine, then unplug the power cord to cut off the power supply.
    • Clean the machine : Promptly clean dust, stains, and residual polishing compounds, waxes, and other residues from the polisher to prevent them from hardening and becoming difficult to remove, which could damage machine components. Also, detach accessories such as polishing pads and abrasive discs for cleaning or drying, ensuring they’re ready for next use.

Important Notes

  1. Security aspects
    • Wearing protective gear : Operators must wear protective equipment such as safety goggles, masks, and gloves to prevent dust, debris, and other particles generated during the polishing process from entering the eyes, mouth, and nose, or causing hand injuries.
    • Maintain a safe distance : When operating, maintain a safe distance from others and ensure no one approaches the running polishing machine to prevent accidental collisions or injuries caused by the machine.
    • Prevent electric shock : When connecting to the power supply and during use, pay attention to electrical safety—avoid letting water enter the machine or using it in damp environments—to prevent electric shock accidents.
  2. Operationally
    • Familiarize yourself with the operating procedures Before using the polishing machine, carefully read the product manual, familiarize yourself with the machine's operating procedures and safety precautions, and avoid operating it blindly.
    • Avoid excessive polishing : Avoid polishing in the same spot for extended periods, as this may cause localized overheating or excessive wear on the floor, compromising its smoothness and gloss.
    • Pay attention to the machine's status During the polishing process, continuously monitor the machine's operating status. If you notice any abnormal noises, vibrations, overheating, or other irregularities, immediately stop the operation, inspect the equipment, and address the issue before resuming work.
  3. Ground protection aspects
    • Protect surrounding items During the polishing process, be sure to protect surrounding items such as furniture, walls, doors, and windows to prevent them from being bumped by the polisher or contaminated by polishers, waxes, or other substances.
    • Avoid damaging the ground : Choose the appropriate polishing pads and grinding discs based on the floor material, and avoid using overly abrasive accessories that could scratch or wear down the surface. For floors made of special materials—such as wood flooring or tiles—pay extra attention to the polishing pressure and technique.
