From "320" to "321", the mass production of one of the world's most popular Airbus models in China is not only a "1" added to the model title, but also a vote of confidence cast by foreign investors represented by European Airbus.

The A321 is one of the Airbus A320 series models. This model can not only meet the domestic urban hub trunk shipping market, but also better serve the popular routes of countries along the "Belt and Road.

At the Airbus Tianjin final assembly line, its first Airbus A321 aircraft went online to begin final assembly.

Since the outbreak, the global civil aviation industry has been widely affected. IATA predicts that the global aviation industry will continue to lose money in 2022. In this context, China's "14th Five-Year" Civil Aviation Development Plan proposes that the passenger traffic volume is expected to reach 0.93 billion by 2025, and the per capita annual number of flights for Chinese residents will increase from 0.47 in 2019 to 0.67.

In July this year, a number of Chinese airlines ordered a total of 292 A320NEO series aircraft from Airbus to replace retired aircraft and expand their fleet. Airbus said that from the perspective of a single country, China will still be the largest market for Airbus's new aircraft in the world in the next 20 years.

Not only the aviation industry, but also the 2022 China Business Environment Survey report of the American Chamber of Commerce in China shows that 60% of its member enterprises regard China as one of the top three investment destinations in their recent global investment plans, and 2/3 of them plan to increase their investment in China this year.

Foreign-funded enterprises "vote with their feet" and "vote with investment" rely on stable expectations of China's stable economic growth and the vitality of the consumer market.

A set of data is enough to illustrate the problem: from 2013 to 2021, China's average contribution rate to world economic growth reached 38.6 per cent, exceeding the total contribution rate of the Group of Seven countries; the proportion of China's high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing in the added value of industries above scale increased from 9.4 per cent and 28 per cent in 2012 to 15.1 per cent and 32.4 per cent in 2021, respectively.

Foreign confidence in China also comes from China's firm concept of green development. The 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) is being held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. China continues to firmly implement its national strategy of actively responding to climate change and has established a carbon-to-peak and carbon-neutral "1 N" The policy system has made a series of new deployments and new arrangements.

Under the guidance of the "double carbon" goal, China has put forward a long-term goal for the carbon neutral growth of transport aviation in 2035 and the gradual entry of airport carbon emissions into the peak platform period, and has also made clear the binding reduction targets for airlines' unit fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

Through the deep docking with Chinese enterprises, the green science and technology innovation ability of foreign enterprises has been implemented in the production practice. Airbus uses sustainable aviation fuel for the first time in China in September this year and will use it for Airbus Tianjin delivery flights......
