During the construction process of floor grinding machines, there are two types of grinding methods: dry grinding and wet grinding. What exactly are the differences between these two methods, and what are their respective advantages and disadvantages? Qing Qin Yu will explain them one by one for you.
I. Dry Grinding
Advantages:
1. Work efficiency must be higher—dry grinding eliminates the need to spray and collect water at every processing step, making it more convenient and significantly saving time.
2. The grinding effect is superior; dry grinding equipment typically consists of large-scale concrete floor grinders that are heavy yet deliver excellent cutting power.
3. Strong visual identification skills—dry grinding is particularly advantageous for observing the grinding process on the surface, helping to prevent unnoticed errors during grinding.
4. The construction quality is high—dry grinding results in a smoother floor surface with improved glossiness.
Disadvantages:
1. Dry grinding results in shallower floor polishing and makes scratches more likely to appear;
2. Dry grinding generates a large amount of dust, which is harmful to human health, so professional dust-control equipment must be used to achieve dust-free sanding.
